2021 Hyundai Kona Review
There’s a reason crossover models have become so popular for drivers in the Bloomington, Martinsville, and Ellettsville, IN, area, and that’s because they deliver the interior cabin space of an SUV, as well as the easy handling and drivability of a smaller car, like a sedan. One vehicle you may be considering is the Hyundai Kona.
Here at Andy Mohr Hyundai, we’re dedicated to helping our drivers every step of the way through their car buying journeys, and we know that starts right here with the research process. In order to make it as easy as possible, we created this handy breakdown on the 2021 Hyundai Kona. Now, let’s see if this is the right choice for you!
Performance Features & Engine Specs
To get started, we’ll head right under the hood and check out what powers this crossover—the engine. You’ll have two different options to choose from.
The standard 2.0-liter Inline 4-cylinder engine puts out 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque capability. This is paired with the standard 6-speed automatic transmission with SHIFTRONIC®, which delivers a smooth and easy-to-handle ride.
For a bit more oomph, there’s also an available 1.6-liter Inline 4-cylinder turbocharged engine, which puts out 175 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque capability. This engine is paired with the 7-speed EcoShift® Dual Clutch Transmission.
A front-wheel drivetrain comes standard, but for advanced traction and stability control be sure to ask about the available all-wheel drivetrain.
Interior Cabin Space & Comfort
Now, we’ll head inside the 2021 Kona and check out just how much room you and your fellow riders will find yourself with. You’ll be able to comfortably fit five within the 113.3 cu. ft. of passenger volume, and everyone will have plenty of headroom, legroom, shoulder room, and hip room to spread out and relax.

You’ll also have plenty of room for storage. Back in the trunk you’ll get 19.2 cu. ft. of cargo volume when all the seats are upright. If you need access to a bit more, simply fold down the second-row seats for up to 45.8 cu. ft. of storage room.
