As highlighted above, this powertrain offers superior fuel economy, but also delivers more power with 185 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque.

Both the 2019 Hyundai Sonata and Ford Fusion have two rows of seats and room for up to five people. In each sedan, you’ll have a choice between cloth or leather seats along with convenient 60/40 split-folding rear seats.

The Hyundai interior offers more comfort, though, thanks to its roomier design. You’ll notice the difference when you’re behind the wheel. It features 40.4 inches of front headroom and 45.5 inches of front legroom.

The Fusion feels a little more cramped for the driver and front passenger with 39.2 inches of front headroom and 44.3 inches of front legroom.

It’s also more comfortable when you’ve got all your friends or the whole family on board. In the back, the Hyundai Sonata has wide seats with 56.1 inches of rear hip room. The Ford Fusion will feel like a tighter squeeze for your passengers with just 54.4 inches of rear hip room.
