2018 Hyundai Kona Exterior Design
As exciting as the available powertrains make the 2018 Hyundai Kona, its design is what gives it an agile performance.
This subcompact SUV stands at 61.6 inches tall and 70.9 inches wide. This gives it the ability to turn quickly and deliver a drive that’s both stable and fun. You can count on dependable traction, too. It’s 164 inches long and has a 102.4-inch wheelbase to help you grip the road.
The exterior style also adds to the performance. While its body has a look that’s sleek, sporty, and bold, all at the same time, its rounded edges boost your acceleration by achieving a 0.32 drag coefficient.
Up front, you’ll first notice the signature black mesh Hyundai grille. Its large design is amplified by a thin air intake just above it, and a large intake and chrome bumper underneath.
You’ll get excellent visibility from LED daytime running lights and available front fog lights. While a set of diagonal projector headlights are standard, LED headlights are also available. These front lights surround the grille, which bolsters its appearance and makes your car easy to see.
Moving back, you’ll have an accent line at the top of each door and a silver and black scuff plate at the bottom. These run along the body of the vehicle. This SUV can run on either 16-, 17-, or 18-inch alloy wheels, depending on what trim level you choose.
Along the roof there are subtle matte black roof rails that can help you tie down up to 176 pounds of cargo. The standard roof color matches the body of the vehicle. However, exterior colors like Sonic Silver, Surf Blue, and Pulse Red offer a dark grey or black roof a bit of contrast.
Toward the back of the roof there’s a shark fin antenna. This finally culminates in a sporty roofline spoiler that extends slightly out over the rear windshield.
The rear taillights mirror the front headlights’ setup with a pair of sleek diagonal lights up top and a pair of square blinkers below them.
